Our client asked one of our staff to help with the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase of their global roll-out of incident management software.
The main task was to take the functional specification and create a test strategy & plan. This included defining the test scenarios and cases, then agreeing the acceptance criteria with a team that was based globally. With this group of users, the test data was designed and used as inputs to test the system thoroughly. These tests included functionality, data quality, reports, interfaces and performance.
The assignment reached very diverse parts of the organisation (retail, supply and manufacturing to name a few). The system had to meet all their demands (in addition to other stakeholders as part of their parent company). Our expert was able to steer the client (and their stakeholders) in a direction that would leave the users and team satisfied with the end solution.
With our expert knowledge we were asked to stay on further, until the end of the project. The new tasks would lead us to support the core team in global meetings, technical knowledge and coordinating with the software vendor. Our consultant was asked to ensure that their global support staff had the key technical knowledge to support the system moving forward.
